Baader Hyperion 3.5 mm

The Baader is a German company producing accessories and eyepieces for astronomy , Which for many years is known for its excellent quality of its products. Among the eye of the Baader
the best known are surely ortocospici, but are gaining ground in recent times the new Hyperion series.
Hyperion series consists of several eyepieces, we begin with the 3.5 mm, 5 mm, 8 mm, 12 mm, 17 mm and 24 mm, all with plug-31.8 mm, and all the eye using a 7 lenses in the optical system to obtain a correct field of 68 ° without chromatic aberration.
version in my possession is 3.5 mm.
The packaging is cardboard and discrete implementation, the eye is contained in a black leather bag well created and provided with protective caps for the lenses.
Once out of the box you will immediately notice the heavy weight, about 280 g, and the fact that the eye is a solid and well done in terms of materials used externally.

I got to try the eye on both the C8 and the Newton 6 inch Meade LXD75.
Given the difference in focus is a magnification much different, but looking at the moon there is no difference if the magnification, they both brightness and contrast are great. Driven to 570X with the C8 I was able in one night of discreet seeing, about 6 / 10, inside the craters that of Plato with a good sharpness even if there is a slight aberration color at the edges, but aberration nn observing planets known absolutely, because by observing Jupiter with the C8 I managed to get a good sharpness and contrast of the image without noticing no aberration.
Ultimately a great eye, which considered the price / performance ratio is absolutely recommended for those who need a good quality without breaking the bank.
