Rossi's (rhoc) Monokini Bathing Suit

Regatta opening

Sunday, April 19, 2009: Race Opening of the Sailing Club of Como: Amarcord was in open class cruisers, along with 10 other competitors.

The morning began with rain and wind between 15 and 20 knots, but at 14.00, now set for the race, dropped the wind (though the rain continued unabated.)

After a long wait and finally when the wind returned between 4 and 7 knots, was given the first start. Amarcord snapped on time on the buoy, but set aside the jury's departure "because you were all out." All who? We certainly do not! Then we are not broken down well and we finished fourth in our class.

In the second race we started much better, we found a good fantastic last windward leg that took us right on arrival at the first position. But in the last 50 meters, the wind has dropped and we were overtaken by D772 who won by ten seconds over us.

Well, not bad for the first exit. We thought we were having trouble with the spinnaker and instead went smoothly. But I struggled in turn with 160% genoa, not always a sign right away.

Thanks to Andrea, a very young team laser agonists, which requested a ride to the races and has proven its value both as a tactician and as mainsail trimmer.

The on-board cam filmed an hour of racing in the coming days I hope to find time to draw from outside a ten minute watchable. The photos however, are already on flickr
